# Build

Every deploy from source starts with a Build. Blossom builds with Buildpacks
by default, so most Apps need no Dockerfile; choose your own Dockerfile, the
Static builder or a prebuilt image when you want. Builds run on their own
[Builder](/docs/build/builders/), so they never slow your Apps,
and Blossom stores the images for you.
