# Choose Your Cloud

A Location is where your App and database run. Blossom operates the platform
for both choices; you don't install a management server.

[Install the CLI and log in](/learn/getting-started/install/) if
you haven't already, then choose a path.

## Blossom Cloud

Your Account starts with **Blossom Cloud · Hetzner · Falkenstein, Germany**.
Servers start only when needed. Use the account switcher to select where new
resources run.

For another region or provider, open **Manage account → Locations → Add Location**.
You can make it the default and remove the original empty Location afterward.

Continue to [select the Location in your CLI profile](#use-your-location).

## Blossom BYOC

Blossom BYOC (bring your own cloud) runs your App and database in your cloud
account. Blossom handles deployment, monitoring and automatic recovery.

1. Open **Integrations → Cloud Providers**.
2. Connect [Hetzner](/docs/locations/cloud-providers/hetzner/),
   [DigitalOcean](/docs/locations/cloud-providers/digitalocean/),
   or [another supported cloud provider](/docs/locations/cloud-providers/#blossom-byoc-providers).
3. Open **Manage account → Locations → Add Location**, choose **Blossom
   BYOC**, then your connection and region.

From the terminal, [connect a provider](/docs/locations/cloud-providers/create-from-cli/), then save a Location.
For example, with a connected Hetzner project, write location.yml:

```yaml
location:
  offering: blossom_byoc
  cloud_provider_id: cloud_provider-100 # use your connection's ID
  region: fsn1
```

    blossom cloud_provider:list
    blossom location:add --data location.yml

Use your provider's region code; DigitalOcean's New York region is `nyc3`.
Saving a Location does not create compute.

## Use Your Location

Ask your agent:

> Show my saved Locations and set my CLI profile to the one I choose.

These are the commands it uses:

    blossom location:list
    blossom location:use --id location-100
    blossom profile:current

Replace `location-100` with the ID from the list. The profile remembers your
choice, so the App and database commands that follow use the same Location.

## What You Get

A saved destination for your App and database, ready to use on your cloud or
ours.

Next, [create an App](/learn/getting-started/apps/).
