# Create an App

An App holds one application and its Environments, such as production and
staging. Ask your agent:

> Create an App named demo in my current Location.

The CLI command creates that App:

    blossom app:create -d '{"app":{"name":"demo"}}'

It goes to the [Location you selected](/learn/getting-started/choose-your-cloud/#use-your-location) in your
profile, on Blossom Cloud or your own cloud.

Use the IDs printed by the create commands in the following examples:
`app-100`, `environment-100` and the database IDs are placeholders.

See your Apps:

    blossom app:list
    blossom app:show --id app-100

For longer settings, `blossom app:init` writes a starter app.yml
(`app: {name: demo}`) to edit and pass with `--data app.yml`. Every command's flags are in the
[CLI reference](/docs/reference/cli/app/).

Next, [set up its Environment](/learn/getting-started/environments/).
