# blossom service:create

Create a service

## Usage

    blossom service:create [--data DATA]

## Flags

| Flag | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `--data, -d` | YAML or JSON data, a path to a data file, or an HTTP(S) URL |

Examples:

    blossom service:create --data service.yml

service.yml:

```yaml
service:
  environment_id: environment-100
  name: web
  command: bundle exec puma
  port: 3000
  publicly_exposed: true
  health_check:
    enabled: true
    kind: http
    path: /ready
    traffic: true
```

The health check belongs to the Service. Blossom derives Container readiness
and traffic protection from this one definition.

For a single-writer Persistent Service, add:

```yaml
  desired_size: 1
  storage:
    size_gib: 10
    mount_path: /data
    availability: shared
```

Storage defaults to Shared, on your own Persistent Capacity. Use `dedicated`
to reserve compute for this Service. Deploy the Environment to provision the
Volume and compute. Deployments stop the previous writer before starting the
next; expect an interruption. Persistent Services cannot autoscale.
