# blossom cache_instance:update

Update a cache instance

## Usage

blossom cache_instance:update --id ID [--data DATA] [--follow] [--timestamps]

## Flags

| Flag | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `--id (required)` | Cache instance id |
| `--data, -d` | YAML or JSON data, a path to a data file, or an HTTP(S) URL |
| `--follow, -f` | Follow the activity the update starts, such as adding or removing the standby |
| `--timestamps` | Show log timestamps. Default: true. |

Update a Cache instance's name, storage size, Backup Storage, public access, or
standby. Engine, version, region, password, port, and availability are fixed.

Set `standby: true` on a Dedicated Redis Cache instance to add a standby with
automatic failover, or `standby: false` to remove it. The response carries
the Activity; add `--follow` to watch it.

    blossom cache_instance:update --id cache_instance-100 --data '{"cache_instance":{"standby":true}}' --follow
