# DigitalOcean

Connect DigitalOcean to use Blossom BYOC (bring your own cloud), with
workloads billed to your DigitalOcean account.

## Connect

Browser authorization is the simplest path:

1. Create or select a DigitalOcean team.
2. In Blossom, open **Cloud Providers** and choose **DigitalOcean**.
3. Complete the DigitalOcean browser authorization flow.
4. Run the connection check, then [add a Location](/learn/getting-started/choose-your-cloud/#blossom-byoc) in a supported
   DigitalOcean region.

You can instead use a DigitalOcean API token through the CLI or API:

```yaml
cloud_provider:
  name: digitalocean-production
  provider: digitalocean
  credentials:
    token: ...
```

    blossom cloud_provider:create --data cloud_provider.yml

Use one method per connection. Blossom stores the OAuth grant or API token and
never returns it through customer-facing interfaces.

Keep the team active, its payment method current, and enough quota available
for approved Capacity. After the connection is healthy, deploy, scale, observe,
and recover Apps through the ordinary Blossom workflow.
