# Locations

A Location is where your Apps and Data run: a Blossom Cloud region, or a
region in your own cloud account with Blossom BYOC (bring your own cloud).
Choose where new Apps and Data run from the account switcher.

## Run Anywhere

Blossom Cloud offers Hetzner and DigitalOcean regions across Europe,
North America, Asia and Australia, from Falkenstein and Helsinki to Virginia,
Singapore and Sydney. With Blossom BYOC, any region your provider offers can
be a Location once you [connect the account](/docs/locations/cloud-providers/).

Each App runs in the Location you create it in, with all its Environments.
To run an App in another region too, deploy it to a second Location. Its
Databases and Caches run in the same Location, close to the App.

## CPU Architecture

Each Location runs one CPU type, ARM or x86, chosen when you add it. Your
Account's setting is **Auto** unless you change it: x86 for broader Server
availability. You can explicitly choose ARM in supported regions. A Location
keeps its type. For an App that needs the other one, add a second Location in
the same region under **Advanced · CPU architecture**; the two are named "Falkenstein
(ARM)" and "Falkenstein (x86)".

## Add A Location

Signup gives your Account a default **Blossom Cloud · Hetzner · Falkenstein,
Germany** Location. Add others under **Manage account → Locations → Add Location**.
New resources use the Location selected in the account switcher; existing
resources stay where they are.

Choose another default before deleting the original. An Account always keeps
at least one Location. Accounts start with three Locations available; choose
**Request more Locations** on the Locations page when you need more.

From the CLI, use
[`location:add`](/docs/reference/cli/location/add/),
[`location:list`](/docs/reference/cli/location/list/) and
[`location:remove`](/docs/reference/cli/location/remove/).
