# database_instance_create

Create a managed database instance (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB or MongoDB) within the capacity limit. Blossom generates its password; reveal it in Blossom. Returns the Activity; follow it with activity_wait.

## Arguments

| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `data` | object | The database instance, as in database_instance.yml from database_instance:init. Required. |
| `data.name` | string | Instance name. |
| `data.engine` | string | postgres, mysql, mariadb or mongodb. |
| `data.engine_version` | string | Version; the engine's current one by default. |
| `data.location_id` | string | Location id. |
| `data.storage_gib` | integer | 10 to 1000 GB; grows online later, never shrinks. |
| `data.backup_storage_id` | string | blossom_cloud or a backup_storage id. |
| `data.database_name` | string | First database. |
| `data.username` | string | Owner role. |
| `data.port` | integer | Port. |
| `data.availability` | string | shared (on the Location's Data Capacity) or dedicated (its own Server). |
| `data.standby` | boolean | Dedicated PostgreSQL only: a standby with automatic failover; doubles the charge. |
| `data.size` | value | Shared only: small, medium or large, or {cpu_vcpus, memory_gb}. |
| `data.dedicated_size` | string | Size of the node's own Server, for availability: dedicated. |
| `data.size_cpu_vcpus` | number | Custom vCPUs. |
| `data.size_memory_gb` | number | Custom memory in GB. |
| `location` | string | Location id; sets data.location_id. |
