# cache_instance_create

Create a managed cache (Redis or Memcached) within the capacity limit. Blossom generates its password. Returns the Activity; follow it with activity_wait.

## Arguments

| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `data` | object | The cache, as in cache_instance.yml from cache_instance:init. Required. |
| `data.name` | string | Cache name. |
| `data.engine` | string | redis or memcached. |
| `data.engine_version` | string | Version. |
| `data.location_id` | string | Location id. |
| `data.storage_gib` | integer | Storage in GiB. |
| `data.backup_storage_id` | string | Backup storage id. |
| `data.port` | integer | Port. |
| `data.availability` | string | shared or dedicated. |
| `data.size` | value | Shared only: small, medium or large, or {cpu_vcpus, memory_gb}. |
| `data.standby` | boolean | Dedicated Redis only: a standby with automatic failover. |
| `location` | string | Location id; sets data.location_id. |
